Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle ( PSLV ) is a launch vehicle developed and operated by the Indian space research organization (ISRO). It was developed to enable India to launch its remote sensing satellites into sun-synchronous orbit . It can also launch small satellites into geostationary transfer orbit . As of 2015 the PSLV has launched 80 spacecraft into a variety of orbits.
